At the end of this month, I will leave the Chopra Center to join you in our journey of sharing the timeless teachings of meditation, Vedanta, Ayurveda, yoga, and conscious communication with the world.
It has been my joy to serve the Chopra Center and CCU and to help raise the vibration of two amazing expressions of universal wisdom – Deepak Chopra and David Simon. Like you, I found the Chopra Center while searching for something deeper in life. For me it was healing deep wounds in my heart. When I attended my first Seduction of Spirit, I was in agonizing emotional pain; when I attended my first Journey into Healing and enrolled on the teachers path, it was to help me ground my own meditation practice and take it to the next level – and here I am ten years later…a product of the teachings.
Each day I have asked the Soul Questions before drifting into stillness and silence. Each day I have practiced the Sutras. And each day I have lived the Seven Spiritual Laws immersing my self in the timeless expressions of Vedic wisdom. And all of this has created a powerful infrastructure that allows me to love more unconditionally, be more forgiving, open my heart, be vulnerable, connect with divine source, and connect to others.
These benefits are not unique to me. Each of us has taken the pearl we have needed at that critical moment in our life depending on our circumstances and then worked at aligning our inner and outer dialogs to become the best version of our self.
In the process, I have learned so much about myself, about life, and about consciousness. Some of my lessons were very hard to learn; others were easy. Each has been a gift and a blessing. Deepak and David have created an organization and a conversation that transcends space and time. They have encouraged and empowered each of us to go out into the world and share these timeless teachings in our own individual expression - using our own life story to help others experience stillness, moksha, higher states, healing, and deeper fulfillment in their lives.
Taking a leap into the unknown is never an easy choice. Stepping into uncertainty contains all the obvious emotions of fear, second-guessing, lack of confidence, and “what if…?”. But this is where the teacher’s brilliance shines through. When Deepak wrote the Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, he flowed the laws in an amazing progression and that is why the Law of Detachment follows the Law of Intention and Desire.
In his timeless classic, he writes, “Uncertainty is the fertile ground of pure creativity and freedom. The unknown is the field of all possibilities, ever fresh, ever new, always open to the creation of new manifestations.”
I believe that. I trust my teacher. I trust my heart. And I trust in the universe.
We have all been taught well by our teachers and we have the obligation to take that next step. To dream that which is unthinkable; to reach beyond what you believed was touchable; to step into the field of infinite possibilities. And so, on one hand I say “goodbye” as I leave the sweet goddess known as the Chopra Center for Wellbeing; on the other hand as I walk through the door, I say “Hello” as I join you and the other 1500 certified instructors who have found their dharma and their bliss by taking what their teachers have taught them and flowing it out into the world using our unique gifts and our special talents.
The Chopra Center is more than simply a geographic location. It’s a state of mind. And as I have often said, “Here we are in this precious, sacred moment. What are you going to do with it?” Together, let’s celebrate the amazing gift we have been given by the Center and its founders. Let’s help create the critical mass that Deepak teaches will bring us to the tipping point of a just, sustainable, happier, and more peaceful world.
It has been my greatest gift to serve you from the inside of CCU; it is my honor to serve you on the outside. We are the collective. Let’s Do it…let’s BE it. Aham brahmasmi.
