Dr. Patrick Flanagan
Dr. Patrick Flanagan is renowned as the inventer the neurophone, an electronic nervous system excitation device that transmits sound through the skin directly to the brain. The neurophone allows the brain to "hear" directly through the nervous system without using the ears. It is now a highly effective tool for learning, relaxation, and meditation. The invention earned him a profile in Life magazine, which called him a "unique, mature and inquisitive scientist." Dr. Flanagan has continued to develop the neurophone and it is currently being used as an aid to enhance learning.
Dr. Flanagan has also invented a series of other useful health technologies and products based on water and specific mineral structures. He is the founder of Phi Sciences, an organization bringing together doctors, scientists, and business leaders whose vision is to improve human health through innovative applications of science using socially responsible business practices.
Special Guest Performer: Derrick Suwaima Davis
Derrick Suwaima Davis is a native Arizonan from the Hopi and Choctaw nations. Suwaima. He began participating in pow-wows at the age of three, is a five-time World Champion Hoop Dancer, and Champion Fancy Dancer.
In addition to dancing competitively, Suwaima choreographs and performs in the annual Native Song & Dance production at the Scottsdale Center for the Arts. Suwaima also serves as artistic director for the Native Trails Tour and Scottsdale Festivals.
For seven years, Suwaima was a member of the pop/rock group “Clan/destine.” He also has worked with the Phoenix Symphony and Canyon Records. In 2002, he was Head Man Dancer at the inaugural pow-wow at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian on the Mall in Washington, DC.

If you’ve taken a yoga class in the last five years, you have no doubt heard Wah! and her indisputably unique, sultry voice. Drawing from both current trends and ancient traditions, her hypnotic, energizing music is infused with pop, reggae, and folk melodies.
Wah! has spent ten years cultivating her sound, reinventing the traditional kirtan of India. What lies underneath her music is a lifelong dedication to spiritual practice. She began practicing yoga and meditation at age seventeen and has traveled to Europe, India, and Africa seeking community and spiritual teachings. Wah is a Sanskrit word meaning "bliss beyond description" – and Wah! uses her music to lift the audience into a state of bliss. Her concerts include Sanskrit chanting, storytelling, songs in English, and audience participation. The atmosphere is festive and jubliant . . . an experience of ecstatic transcendence.
