Guided by our medical and mind-body specialists, you will experience all the benefits of our signature Perfect Health program while learning tools to manage pain syndromes, reduce inflammation in your body, and regulate stress. You will enjoy lectures from pain specialists, and receive specific treatments in the areas of acupuncture, hypnotherapy, and holistic physical therapy in a supportive, small-group environment.

Brent is a board-certified doctor of physical therapy and a Chopra Center-certified instructor of Perfect Health: Ayurvedic Lifestyle and the Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga. He teaches at the Chopra Center’s weekly Perfect Health program and also lectures regularly on anatomy and physiologyat Chopra Center University’s Yoga Teacher Trainings. He is also the owner and director of Zenergy Physical Therapy, a healing studio that integrates many mind-body techniques, including yoga therapy, meditation, and Ayurvedic bodywork
With a commitment to helping others actualize their full potential and wellbeing, East Haradin has been a licensed acupuncturist and practitioner of integrative medicine since 1999. In addition to a private practice, she shares her passion for this medicine as a professor, and clinical supervisor, at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, California. In 2008, she created a special outreach program at the Family Recover Center in Oceanside, California, where residential and day-treatment patients receive acupuncture in group and private settings.
Early on in her life, Maureen Pisani realized that her life passion was to support others in creating their best lives. She became a certified hypnotherapist through study at the Hypnosis Motivation Institute in Southern California, where she has lectured and mentored the faculty.. She has also been a guest lecturer at several universities, including UCLA, and Santa Monica College. Maureen has also served as Program Director and instructor for the Hypnotherapy Program at Mueller College.

Sheila Patel, M.D.
Sheila Patel, M.D. is a board-certified family physician who is passionate about bringing holistic healing practices into the Western medical system. Before coming to the Chopra Center, she practiced full-spectrum family medicine, from prenatal care and deliveries to ER coverage and primary care for all ages. As the Chopra Center’s Medical Director, she offers integrative medical consultations that combine the best in conventional medicine with the wisdom of Ayurveda. Her special interests include preventive medicine and mind-body medicine, with an emphasis on Ayurveda.
Valencia Porter, M.D., M.P.H.
Valencia Porter, M.D., M.P.H. is board-certified in both General Preventive Medicine and Integrative Holistic Medicine. Dr. Porter has an integrative approach that incorporates many areas of health and healing, including Ayurveda, biofield (energy) therapies, and functional medicine.
Before coming to the Chopra Center, Dr. Porter served as a physician and researcher at the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine in San Diego. She also completed a fellowship as a Bravewell Collaborative scholar at the renowned Program for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona.
Tim Brieske, M.D.
Tim Brieske, M.D. is a board-certified family physician, mind-body healing expert, and core member of the Chopra Center medical staff. With his characteristic compassion, wisdom, and lighthearted nature, he provides medical consultations for guests and patients and offers mind-body guidance at the Center’s events and programs. He also teaches the healing tools and techniques of Ayurveda and leads walking meditations in nature.
Before coming to the Center, Dr. Brieske was in medical practice for more than thirteen years in Southeast Alaska and rural Wisconsin, where he was able to experience and practice the full range of primary care and emergency medicine while developing and performing the skills necessary to care for people in all stages and transitions of life.
Rachelle has been with the Chopra Center for Wellbeing since 2007 and currently serves as manager of the Medical Department, working primarily with the Chopra Center’s signature Perfect Health program. She studied Medical Anthropology at Stanford University with intentions of creating a career that nurtured her love of guiding people towards achieving greater health and happines. Rachelle is a Chopra Center certified instructor of Perfect Health-Ayurvedic Lifestyle, Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga, and Primordial Sound Meditation and serves as one of the lead instructors for the Perfect Health program.
