I arrived at La Costa Resort on a Sunday afternoon in full anticipation of beginning the Perfect Health program. I checked into my room – spacious and comfortable – with an outdoor patio looking into a blooming spring flowered courtyard with a fountain, the sound of the gentle waters soothing my slightly overworking mind. What would the week be like? Who else would be there? What was in store for me physically, emotionally . . . spiritually? I gulped in some air . . . breathed deeply, calming my monkey mind, and walked over to the Chopra Center.
The front desk staff of the Chopra Center never tired of greeting me all week and tending to my every need or question, and were always smiling. They are incomparable. Everyone I met (doctors, nurses, support staff, therapists, teachers) welcomed me, put me at ease, and assisted me in every way. I told everyone I was in Heaven. The staff, my guardian angels, were there ensuring my every need was met, oftentimes before I even know I had one.
The first morning our Perfect Health group of eleven women bravely embarked on a life-changing, turning-point experience. I watched these ten strangers laugh, cry, break bread, learn, teach, and share with one another deeply, undoubtedly under the influence of God. The power of healing was and continues to be nothing less than miraculous. We now call ourselves “The Women of Wonder” (WOW for short!) and continue to hold one another in love, light , and high esteem through email and phone support.
So if you are like me, and know there is a better way to live your life more fully and are courageous enough to go to Heaven for six days, go. Indulge yourself in the Love of the Chopra Center. I still enjoy sharing my memories with friends, telling them about the “arduous” schedule of body/mind treats: twice daily meditation, twice daily yoga, twice daily body work, twice daily classes. This program offers a fresh start, a tune-up or recommitment to how you are choosing to live your life. Perfect Health. Perfect Week. Perfect Life.
