Question:

I am 23 years old and yet I haven’t decided what I want to do in my life… Two years ago I was pretty sure that I wanted to be a director, then a poet, but now the passion for those ideas is gone and I’m really confused. What should I do to find out which is my real talent? I don’t want to waste any more time. Please if you could help me I would be grateful.

Answer:

First of all you can let go of the view that there is one thing that you will be doing in your life and that if you figure that out everything will be clear and simple. All you need to do is settle down and listen to your heart as to what you want to do right now. If you live your life fully engaged in the present moment, responding to what the environment is offering you now, that is your life direction for the time. As you follow that trail of interest, it will be your journey of self-discovery and it will become your career. Don’t worry about titles, think in terms of what gifts you have to offer and then translate that into action. If you have considered directing and poetry, then you apparently have a creative bent. Tap into your creative spirit and manifest your vision.

Love,
Deepak
